This bungalow is comfortable, light, airy and sleeps 4. Panoramic views from the front patio window over the Solent and countryside. The Needles, Alum Bay and Tennyson Down are all within easy reach, as is bathing at both Colwell and Totland Bays. Good local shopping in Freshwater and the charming old town of Yarmouth, which also offers a good range of choices for eating out.

This statement has been prepared to help people with disabilities and physical impairment to assess whether these premises will be accessible to them. 

The Bungalow

  • Brambles Chine 153 is a self-catering, single storey bungalow. There is a slight incline leading up to the patio area at the front of the property.
  • The bungalow is set back approximately 10 meters from a tarmac’d road across paving. Car parking is practical between approximately 10 – 15 meters from bungalow.
  • Access into the bungalow is up one step from paving to the patio area and then a further step from the patio area into the bungalow itself. The minimum door width in the bungalow is 74cms.
  • There are two audio smoke alarms and also a carbon monoxide detector.
  • The bungalow is level within has a shower only and no bath. No special facilities, other than those indicated are provided.
  • Pets are not accepted.

The Site

  • The site has a reception, approximately 300-400 meters from the bungalow, which has level access. Staff are happy to assist with practical needs during normal working hours although have no special training in dealing with specific requirements.
  • The site has a small shop for everyday needs. Shop opening times are still to be confirmed for the forthcoming 2014 season. An access ramp can be supplied on request although the approach is over an untarmaced surface.
  • There is a coin-operated launderette on site via the same access as the shop. Staff within the Linstone Chine Office would be available to assist during normal working hours.
  • There is a large outdoor leisure area although no special facilities are available for Disabled guests.
  • Access to the beach is via a steep slipway and steps.

Getting There

  • The site is approximately 4 kilometres from the Yarmouth vehicle/passenger ferry terminal, from where taxis are usually available, and is approximately 800 meters from the nearest bus stop.
  • Vehicular access to the site is practical although via an un-adopted road which is in variable condition.
